中国游学zhōng guó yóu xué
A full-immersion Chinese programme on our own campus on the Guangxi coast: one-to-one and small-group classes every day, a room arranged before you land, and a city where nobody switches to English for you. Courses start any Monday and run for as long as you like.
中国游学 · Beihai
中国游学 · the coastal south
Beihai sits on the southern coast of Guangxi, facing the Beibu Gulf: soft white sand, a warm climate and a pace nothing like Shanghai or Beijing. The beach is a few hundred metres from our gate.
Almost nobody here speaks English, and that is the point. Students order at the noodle shop, haggle at the market and talk to the neighbours — Chinese comes out of the classroom and into the day.
It is a small city that still has everything a long stay needs: markets and malls, a lively old street, seafood straight off the boats, and a long, walkable seafront. Weekends open up the whole of Guangxi — islands, karst hills and old towns are a train ride away.
This is our own campus, not a partner agency: our teachers, our classrooms, and a city we know street by street.

Five things students tell us made the difference.
From your first enquiry to your last day of class we take care of the practical side: airport pickup, a room arranged before you land, orientation, a first walk around Beihai, and someone to call at any hour if you need it.
Immersion students study with three teachers. Your weekly hours are split across them — reading and writing, listening and speaking, and daily review — and they plan together around your goals.
We chose Beihai after years of teaching across China. It has the balance immersion needs: a real city, with markets, cafés and beaches, at a pace slow enough to practise in — and, in our experience, very few people who will switch to English for you.
Our team is on campus all day, so questions get answered and afternoons fill up. The aim is a place where you are pushed academically and looked after at the same time.
We have been teaching Chinese to international students in Guangxi since 2009, on the same campus, with teachers who have been here for years. You are not the first student we have settled into this city, and it shows.
A weekday on campus
A typical weekday is built around four hours of one-to-one Chinese, with plenty of time left for self-study, exploring the city and using what you have learned.
Depending on your timetable, your morning may hold two one-to-one sessions, or free time for homework, errands and everyday practice around the city.
Rest, go over new material and fold Chinese into ordinary routines — ordering lunch, talking with teachers and classmates, chatting with people you meet.
If your classes fall in the afternoon, this is when you meet your teachers. If not, use the time for homework, language exchange, markets, cafés, parks and the seafront.
Evenings are lighter: dinner, focused review, informal practice, film nights, calligraphy, or simply relaxing at the school with other students.
Longer outings — the island, the old street, the hills behind the city — are saved for weekends and holidays, with a bigger trip about once a month.

The schedule above is a sample weekday, not a fixed timetable. Classes run in four sessions — 8:20–10:20, 10:30–12:30, 2:00–4:00 and 4:10–6:10 — and immersion students are booked into two of them: four hours of one-to-one Chinese a day.

Activities and travel excursions
Alongside the four daily hours of class we run activities through the week and a trip about once a month, so Chinese keeps happening well outside the classroom.
Some are close to home: a cooking afternoon, a tea house, a walk down the old street, tai chi on the seafront. Others take the whole day. Once a month we arrange an overnight trip beyond the city, to places such as Weizhou Island or the old towns and hills of Guangxi. Teachers often come along and keep the conversation in Chinese.
Some activities are included in tuition. For the optional ones we pass on the direct cost, with no markup.

Recent words from students who studied on the Beihai campus.

I am from Indonesia and have been studying Chinese for seven years. Before heading to the campus, I took three months of online classes with the school. Recently I decided to go to Beihai for one-on-one professional training to improve my business Chinese and translation skills, and the experience was excellent. The teachers are very professional, and the school's services are top-notch. I think I will definitely come back again.

This place is totally awesome! The teachers are all super pro and friendly, and there are heaps of amazing, fun after-school activities too. It's not just a great school — this whole spot is incredible! The beach is only a few hundred metres away, and you can see the ocean and blue sky every single day — so stoked about that! Plus, it's so convenient — you can find tons of tasty food and beautiful views here. Big thanks to all the teachers and classmates I met — I really enjoyed this journey and hope we can meet again next time!

I chose Beihai because it's calm, affordable, and perfect for immersion. The group classes were well-organized and I had plenty of chances to speak every day. The staff helped me settle in quickly, and I felt supported from day one. I improved my confidence a lot and would recommend the school to anyone who wants real progress.

I did a mix of 1-on-1 and small group classes, and it was the best combination for me. My teacher customized the lessons around my goals, and the group class helped me speak more naturally. Beihai is also a great place to focus — less distraction, more Mandarin in daily life. I'd happily come back for a longer program.

My teacher's explanations were clear, and she made learning Chinese genuinely fun. I passed HSK 4 on the back of her guidance, and the daily review is what made it stick.

The lessons were serious and the people were warm. When I come back to China, the first thing I want to do is sit down with my teacher again. That is how much I enjoyed studying here.
